- Manage, optimize, and expand existing infrastructure in distributed environments.
- Provide daily monitoring and support for infrastructure, primarily Linux RedHat Virtual Servers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with VMWare and RedHat servers, as well as virtual and physical network problems.
- Assist in setting up and deploying new VMWare-based Oracle/Tomcat application environments.
- Create custom monitoring scripts for client applications.
- Triage and allocate work and raise helpdesk calls using HEAT/JIRA.
- Communicate the status of current issues to staff and clients.
- Raise security concerns with the Service Delivery Manager.
- Strong experience with RedHat-based distributions.
- Experience in VMware ESX environments.
- Solid knowledge of Java-based applications and how to set them up and maintain them in RedHat Linux environments.
- Automation and scripting skills, preferably in a language like Python.
- Ability to operate within an ISO 9001 environment.
- Initiative to fix problems without being told and the ability to contribute to a tight-knit team.
- Enthusiasm for technology and a willingness to find new solutions to problems.
