- Manage and mentor Gateway Team
- Manage the Gateway Security team members and the Gateway Duty Officers.
- Abides by Defence security guidelines and provides day to day guidance to team members to meet routine obligations.
- Provide advice concerning capabilities and technical direction as requested and assist in the training of team members.
- Oversee DSMS queues and assign work where required Action requests from clients received via DSMS that have been escalated.
- Respond to client queries, complaints or concerns when required.
- Interpret and enforce Defence internet access policy to ensure the Defence network is protected.
- Provide security advice to the wider Gateway Operations team and MILOPS.
- Make security decisions on behalf of MILOPS regarding the approval or rejection of requests.
- Manage and filter email mailbox and monitor for data spills or other security incidents and action accordingly.
- Project Tasks: Provide support to Defence projects which need to pass through the Defence Gateway.
- Troubleshooting systems/solutions which have not yet been handed over into the RUN space.
- Solutioning with Projects to ensure their system/solution works within the Defence environment.
- Represent MILOPS in meetings with Projects.
- Similar experience ideally within Gateway Environment.
- Active or reactivatable NV2 AGSVA Security Clearance
- Prior experience in leading and mentoring a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong understanding of Networks / Firewalls /Proxies /Solaris or Linux/Unix /Mail
- Troubleshooting experience - the ability to perform/lead root cause analysis on network/computer issues on clients, servers and network equipment.
