About the roleThe Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) is launching a brand new, purpose-built Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (MHRU) at Noarlunga Hospital (NH). This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new service and team, helping to shape the future of mental health care in the community. MHRU is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide a supportive and recovery-oriented environment for consumers with high and complex needs. The role will also contribute to the wider Southern Mental Health Rehabilitation Service. This coincides with a brand new NH Pharmacy dispensary and broader workforce expansion to support the NH Uplift.In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of the organisation, management, and operation of a designated pharmacy area, delivering a comprehensive and high-level range of pharmacy services. You will exercise independent, professional judgement in providing expert medicines information and therapeutic advice to patients, medical and nursing staff, and other health professionals. Your work will align with hospital and divisional policies, procedures, and the highest professional standards, ensuring safe and effective pharmacy practice across all aspects of service delivery.You will play a key role in optimising patient outcomes by implementing strategies that promote the quality use of pharmaceuticals in a safe, cost-effective manner. Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will be an essential contributor to improving health outcomes, influencing medication management practices, and supporting excellence in patient care. This is a role where your expertise, initiative, and dedication will make a tangible difference to both patients and the broader healthcare community.About YouYou are an experienced and dedicated pharmacy professional with a strong commitment to delivering safe, high-quality and patient-centred care. Drawing on your clinical expertise and leadership skills, you excel in working within complex healthcare environments and contributing to multidisciplinary teams.Hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and are registered, or eligible for registration, with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.Bring extensive hospital pharmacy experience, with proven leadership, supervisory or management capability.Possess strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a complex environment.Demonstrate a high level of professional and technical competence, with comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practice standards, codes of practice, and quality improvement strategies.About usStatewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS) is a unique public healthcare organisation that serves health consumers and provides specialist clinical services to the health system in South Australia.
