We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead and coordinate the engineering aspects of complex projects within the mining and metals sector. This role involves managing scope, schedule, budget, and priorities, while supervising multi-disciplinary engineering teams. You will be instrumental in project planning, capital estimates, and ensuring technical compliance across all phases of project execution.Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering execution for assigned project scopes, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Own and contribute to capital estimates, design schedules, and procurement planning.
- Review and approve design documents, change orders, and material requisitions.
- Coordinate with procurement, construction, and functional teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Conduct constructability reviews and resolve field engineering queries.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Oversee contractor and subcontractor activities, including ES&H programs.
- Promote continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (or equivalent) with 13-15 years of relevant experience, or 17-19 years of industry experience.
- Proven track record in the mining & metals industry, particularly on major EPCM projects.
- Experience leading complex, multi-discipline engineering packages.
- Strong understanding of front-end project activities (feasibility studies, risk analysis, value improvement).
- Familiarity with modularisation and advanced work packaging.
- Willingness to travel to supplier/vendor offices in China/Southeast Asia for up to 6 months.
- Being technically bilingual in English and Chinese is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
