- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide actionable feedback to empower team members and promote their professional growth.
- Supervise and continually improve all accounting functions, including accounting team, accounts payable (AP) and in the future payroll.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Drive efficiency in accounts payable operations by collaborating closely with the AP team lead and clerks.
- Lead the development and monitoring of financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational excellence.
- Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present accurate financial reports to the executive management team, board of directors, and key stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with tax and audit standards, ensuring the company meets all reporting obligations.
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance workflow, accuracy, and efficiency within all finance and accounting functions.
- Utilise technology tools to automate manual processes and streamline operations where appropriate.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional certification.
- Proven experience in a finance leadership role, managing both qualified and non-qualified team members.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial management, and Australian regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams within accounts payable and general accounting functions.
- Expertise in ERP systems and finance software tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving results and accountability.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams within accounts payable and general accounting functions.
