The Cyber Security Manager position is embedded within the Digital Health Service of Northern Sydney and Central Coast Local Health District and expected to interact at a senior level to provide functional, technical and/or process leadership. The role provides the key interface between the Cyber Security team function within Digital Health Services and serves to increase the realised value and security of LHD assets investments and capabilities. The purpose of the Cyber Security Manager is to provide overall management, leadership, development and application of governance, and continuous improvement of cyber security frameworks, policies, and controls to protect critical LHD digital systems, infrastructure and data in line with the NSW Digital Information Security Policy. The position will be required to provide professional advice and recommendations to ensure that policy, awareness, and operations of Information Security across the LHDs conforms with the ISO/IEC 270001 - Information Security Management (2013) Standards. Additionally, the Cyber Security Manager will ensure alignment of activities with the LHDs' Strategic Plans, Digital Health Strategy and other strategic initiatives. The position will provide the architectural leadership required to develop security solutions to all digital information security challenges; and is responsible for conducting risk and vulnerability assessments and undertaking proactive research to identify and understand new threats, vulnerabilities and exploits impacting clients' environments.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in leading a team of information / cyber security specialists for development and governance of security solutions and operations aligned with ISO27001 and/or the NSW Government Cyber Security Policy including the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) Essential 8 strategies to mitigate cyber security incidents.
  • Exceptional technical IT, analytical and security skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex technical concepts and and translate them into actionable solutions, reports, and recommendations that support strategic planning and operational resilience..
  • Demonstrated ability and confidence to constructively lead a team of information / cyber security specialists on a day-to-day basis and during major incidents. During major incidents, have previously demonstrated the ability to assume charge, no matter who is resourced to assist resolution and managing conflict between stakeholders to ensure the fastest restoration for the customer / business while remaining aligned with Cyber Security policies.
