- Provide clinical and team leadership to ensure the safe and effective provision of nursing and care service to aged care facility residents.
- Support the recruitment team to ensure that nursing and care staffing numbers are maintained at agreed safe staffing levels and within the allocated budget.
- Ensure that all appropriate consumables and medical equipment is ordered and available in a timely manner and within budget.
- Provide support and direction to the Rostering Co-ordinator as required to ensure appropriate staffing levels and personnel.
- Ensure that residents clinical and specialised care need are met in care-planning processes, completed as required by RN's, ensuring that they are up to date and completed to the expected standard, while ensuring adequate consumer (or delegated decision-maker) involvement to promote ongoing safe and effective care.
- Coordinate and actively participate in the implementation of assessments and care planning for new residents (including respite residents) upon admission to the Facility.
- Investigate, review and manage consumer incidents, compliments and complaints in accordance with organisational systems, in consultation with the positions manager.
- Participate in the investigation, review and management of staff incidents, compliments and complaints.as required with the support of the human resources team.
- Support the education and training of current nursing, care staff and healthcare students or trainees undertaking placement
- Promote and lead a culture of inclusion and respect for residents supporting choice and independence, ensuring residents are supported in their goals and preferences including advanced care planning and end of life planning if required.
- Ensure the management of high impact or high prevalence risks associated with the care of each resident is evidence based and in line with best practice.
- Ensure information about the resident's condition, needs and preferences is communicated in a timely manner and with others where responsibility for care is shared.
- Contribute to and lead processes which promote high quality infection prevention and control.
- Prepare and actively participate in meetings and work groups, as required, and ensure the reporting of timely, relevant and regular information.
- Willing to work/be based in North East (Scottsdale),Tasmania
- Current AHPRA registration
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and at least two years' recent nursing experience.
- Provision of a satisfactory National Police Check
- Provision of a satisfactory pre-employment medical assessment
- Current Flu and COVID Vaccination required prior to commencement
- Drivers' licence
- This role is not open for work visa sponsorship
