Grow value for MKTG and our key sporting rights holder partners by commercialising their stadium signage programs. With a focus on our Cricket Australia and AFL partnerships, you will work with the wider MKTG commercial team to understand these key sporting rights partners, their audience, and signage asset mix to support the execution of GTM strategies. Including the identification and research of target categories and brands, build compelling strategic narratives and pitch the opportunities in market to relevant brands and agencies, moving them through the sales funnel to close. Our business offering includes commercial rights acquisition and management, sponsorship consulting and management, research and insights, hospitality, brand experiences and events management, and in-stadium creative and event production.We are now excited to invite applications for the role of Commercial Manager with our awesome team in Sydney in an initial 12-month contract engagement.The role:As the Commercial Manager, you will grow value for MKTG and our key sporting rights holder partners by commercialising their stadium signage programs. With a focus on our Cricket Australia and AFL partnerships, you will work with the wider MKTG commercial team to understand these key sporting rights partners, their audience, and signage asset mix to support the execution of GTM strategies.Core responsibilities:
  • Meet and exceed commercial sales targets
  • Identify and qualify strategically aligned brands to develop a robust sales pipeline
  • Prospect and engage key decisions makers – both client direct and agencies
  • Adopt a methodical, consistent and creative approach to sales call follow-ups
  • Move prospects through the sales funnel from qualification to close
  • Ensure you have a detailed understanding of the benefits and possibilities to upweight across full stadium asset mix for each relevant sporting rights holder (Cricket & AFL focus)
  • Work closely with the MKTG content team to support the development of creative solutions and innovative new assets to deliver upon client objectives
  • Identify and facilitate cross sell opportunities for other MKTG functions.
What you’ll be doing:
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with wider MKTG team and our rights holder partners.
  • Actively support broader MKTG and/or dentsu Business Development initiatives as appropriate.
  • Adhere to all dentsu and dentsu sport international compliance(s) and code of conduct requirements as required by the business
  • Play an active role in contributing to the MKTG team culture across all functions, by participating in team driven activity.
  • Actively contribute to team WIPs, with a particular focus on sharing market insights and competitive intel.
  • Ensure senior management are kept updated on all major pitches/negotiations.
  • Support the day-to-day administrative requirements of the Commercial Rights team and MKTG by ensuring all contracting, reporting and compliance obligations are met in line with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and current records in CRM (Salesforce)
