The Position:An exceptional opportunity has arisen to join a highly proficient Acute Medicine department as a Gastroenterologist – staff specialist/consultant.This position will serve as a Medical Practitioner in the primary referral hospital for the region, which translates to encounters with high-acuity cases and a diverse range of clinical experiences.The role encompasses overseeing patient care across a spectrum of areas including General Gastroenterology, IBD, Chronic liver disease & conducting both diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopy procedures. Familiarity with capsule endoscopy is advantageous.The hospital are seeking a dynamic and skilled medical professional who thrives on challenges, viewing them as opportunities to enhance healthcare within today's intricate health systems. This accredited hospital maintains a close-knit partnership with the University of Tasmania through its clinical school.Requirements:1. Specialist Registration with AHPRA as a FRACP (Gastroenterologist )2. IMG’s eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada or Ireland)3. SIMG’s assessed by RACP College as Substantially comparable will be considered (doctors currently interviewing with RACP may express their interest)4.
