A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.What you'll be doingThe objective of the Infrastructure Architect - Cloud and Data Centre role is to lead the roadmaps, design, build and support escalations of these domains. This role will work across teams and collaboration with the other architects across IT (Data, Domain, EUC, etc) to design and build solutions and improve existing solutions. This role will also need to work successfully with multiple outsourcers to deliver solutions and improve systems and processes.

Design user-centric IT solutions aligned to VA's technology standards and Enterprise Architecture.
Accurately estimate the cost to implement and support the solutions.
Provide guidance to outsourced teams, ensuring systems are built in accordance with the solution design.
Maintain 2-3-year roadmaps for the business systems and underlying technology platforms.
Proactively identify opportunities to rationalise and improve VA's technology assets.
Develop re-usable reference architectures to ensure consistency in solution designs.
Contribute to Architecture Governance processes, ensuring solution designs are formally endorsed in line with architect standards.
Act as technical leaders for project, working closely with project leaders.
Provide strategic and technical leadership.
Engage and assist other departments and development areas.

You'll be great for this role if you...

Extensive technical breadth gained through experience with infrastructure domains such as Storage, Backup, Server MOEs, Firewalls, Cloud PaaS/SaaS, Microsoft technologies, Security controls.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to engage various business areas in solution design processes.
Experience leading others through technology changes and adoption of modern ways of designing and building IT systems.
Advanced understanding of solution design frameworks to ensure effective structures and patterns are being utilised to deliver the business requirements.

Desirable but not essential...

Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
Endorsed qualification in cloud technologies such as AWS Solution Architect.
Experience working within standard architecture frameworks such as Togaf.
10+ years of experience working in IT roles.
Experience working in Agile project delivery teams.
Previous experience with Scripting and PowerShell.
Previous aviation industry experience.
