This teaching position includes working with students from year three to six with a variety of disabilities and learning difficulties, including those with co-morbid disabilities, educational disadvantage, and behaviour support needs. The school is committed to inclusive education, where all students have access to learning and participate fully, supported by reasonable adjustments and teaching strategies tailored to meet their individual needs.
The school has high expectations for the implementation of the Australian Curriculum and where appropriate implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework and/or Abilities Based Learning and Education Support to progress literacy and numeracy skills through intentional teaching. Collaborative planning is promoted, including the ability to establish and maintain a positive and effective working relationship within learning teams R-6.
The school maintains a focus on values-based learning processes with teachers encouraged and supported to facilitate proactive, positive student behaviour initiatives. Whole school learning agreements support continuity of learning for students, and these are connected to required data collection timelines and subsequent student learner entry points.
