Are you passionate about mental health nursing and going to be undertaking post graduate studies in 2026? Join our post graduate program and gain experience working in both an acute inpatient setting and a community setting.Eastern HealthEastern Health is one of Melbourne's largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services, including maternity, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care, community health and state-wide specialist services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs.About the roleEastern Health is now recruiting Mental Health Nursing Post Graduate students for 2025 within a number of areas. We are currently offering clinical positions in the mental health program with opportunities to rotate through an acute inpatient unit (6months) and a speciality area (6months). Possible rotations include; Eastern Homeless Outreach Psychiatric Service, Mobile Support and Treatment Service, Community Care Units, Adolescent, Adult and Older Adult Inpatient Services, and Drug & Alcohol Services.We have primary partnerships with various Universities, and you will be supported by clinical experts and experienced members of the Mental Health Learning and Teaching Directorate.About youTo be successful in this role you will possess:
  • Bachelor of Nursing or other recognised equivalent formal qualification leading to condition free registration in Australia
  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australian (NMBA) via AHPRA
  • 12 months' post registration employment experience, inclusive of six months' experience contemporary acute mental health
  • Must be enrolled and participating in a post graduate diploma in 2025 and remain so for the duration of the post graduate program
  • Demonstrated clinical skills aligned with experience and scope of practice
  • Motivated and self-directed learner who is receptive to feedback
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Patient centred practice
  • Passion for clinical excellence
  • Willingness to engage in clinical supervision practice
  • Ability to work a full rotating roster
  • A current valid Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Up to date Vaccinations COVID-19 & Influenza
