- Anticipate and attend to the guest’s needs and desires immediately.
- Maintain your self appearance in accordance with the hotel’s grooming standards.
- Maintain a harmonious relationship with other members of the service team.
- Acquire a full knowledge of the hotel’s food and beverage service policies and procedures.
- Maintain superior levels of food and beverage service to hotel guests.
- Comply with the hotel’s standards when producing and dispensing food and beverage products.
- Maintain an acceptable degree of knowledge with regard to food and beverage product.
- Participate in all rostered theoretical and A on the job training sessions.
- Comply with all of the hotel’s operational policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all areas are stocked in accordance with established par levels.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Have a full knowledge of and practice of all of the hotel’s established occupational health and safety guidelines (OH&S).
- Adhere to all established cashiering policies and procedures.
- Ensure the protection and maintenance of all operating equipment.
- Complete all assigned opening and closing duties.
- Give assistance to other departments or outlets when required.
- Attend all scheduled meetings.
- Perform any other duties as directed by supervisor / manager.
- Greet and Seat Guests: Warmly welcome guests, assist with seating arrangements, and provide them with menus.
- Take Orders: Knowledgeably describe menu items, answer questions, and take orders accurately, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions.
- Serve Food and Beverages: Deliver food and drinks promptly and ensure they are presented according to standard.
- Check on Guests: Regularly check in with diners to ensure they have everything they need and address any concerns.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the area clean and well-organised, including clearing tables, resetting, and restocking.
- Collaborate with Kitchen Team: Communicate orders to the kitchen and ensure that food is prepared correctly and delivered promptly.
- Handle Payments: Present bills to guests, process payments accurately.
- Upsell and Promote: Suggest additional menu items, specials, or beverages to enhance the guests’ experience.
- Handle Guest Requests: Address special requests and accommodate guests' needs to the best of your ability.
- Safety and Hygiene: Follow safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handling of food and beverages, as well as maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Adhere to health and safety regulations.

- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Proven knowledge of food and beverage items, including wine and cocktails (training will be provided).
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
