- Work with a team of HVAC design specialists in the design and integration of HVAC systems for the Hunter Class Frigate.
- Undertake technical review of mechanical design documentation.
- Carry out relatively complex technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability.
- Participate fully in developing, maintaining and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational need.
- Prepare specifications, develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are maintained.
- Act as a point of contact with customers, design partner and/or other suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve relatively complex problems and issues and to maintain awareness in both parties of priorities and objectives.
- Make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.
- Have a Mechanical, Naval Architecture, Aerospace or other similar degree qualified and satisfying the requirements for membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia.
- Displays flexibility in response to radical changes

- Be flexible to support regular meetings into the evening with colleagues located in the UK and Europe.
- Have familiarity with system integration, systems engineering. HVAC system design experience or familiarity desirable.
- Have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing to management and peers.
- Have intermediate or higher capability with Microsoft Office software and a capability to learn other software and systems quickly.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
