- Responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data products & solutions, aligning them with overall business objectives and this includes understanding products shortfall and devising changes that satisfy customer needs.
- Work with stakeholders; including external retail and grocery partners, to understand user needs and prioritize features and initiatives for data engineering, ensuring they deliver maximum value.
- Actively review and prioritize the backlog for data engineering squads including DataOps and flex squads.
- Responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and governance of data used in the product.
- Work closely with data scientists, engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficient product development.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of data products and identify areas for improvement and this includes completing benefits realization i.e., ROI for any investments.
- Play a role in educating users about the data products and promoting their adoption within the organization.
- Need to stay informed about the latest advancements in data engineering, data science, analytics, and related technologies.
- Build and align with Flybuys prioritization framework to prioritize data engineering work.
- Responsible for managing SOW for Partner Initiatives work.
- Own the discovery phase to understand business requirements and help in estimating the size of the work.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members involved in data delivery projects.
- Oversee delivery across flex squads and coordinate with external vendors.
- Any other accountability or deliverable as assigned from time to time by management
- An experienced product professional with a track record of working across data led product workflows.
- Experience in product planning, development, and launch, including understanding user needs, market trends, and product lifecycle.
- Data-related experience includes roles in data analysis, data science, or data engineering, providing a strong foundation in data management, analytics, and understanding of data technologies.
- Working knowledge of SQL and experience working in complex data environments.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Managing the development and implementation of data products requires strong project management abilities.
- Understanding business goals and how data can be leveraged to achieve them is essential for success.
- The ability to define product vision, roadmap, and prioritize features based on data insights.
- Proven track record of translating product requirements into user stories.
- Proven track record of managing development team backlog and successfully prioritising based on customer value and business objectives.
- Experience working with cross functional delivery teams across software engineering, developers, data analytics, etc.
- Experience managing business stakeholder expectations and understanding business/customer objectives (translating to backlog management).
- Solid understanding of product management principles/agile delivery cycles.
- Competent understanding of JIRA/similar software for managing tickets/development backlog.
- Understanding of data quality, trends, and business insights.
- Ability to identify and solve complex data-related problems.
