Guided by our values of empowerment, innovation, and leadership, we aim to inspire and grow the sport while making a lasting impact - from grassroots to elite level.About the roleWe are on the lookout for an experienced and exceptional events and operations leader to join our Netball Victoria team.As Events & Operations Manager, you'll lead the seamless planning and delivery of Melbourne Vixens and Netball Victoria events. From Suncorp Super Netball match days to fan activations and community engagement programs, you'll create memorable, inclusive experiences that bring our sport to life.This role requires high energy, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders. You'll also need clear communication skills and the ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment as you play a key leadership role in building a high-performing events and operations function.You will be responsible for, but not limited to:Game Day and Events
  • Leading the project management and delivery of Melbourne Vixens and Vixens Academy pre-season and in season games and events, including the Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) game day experience for fans and members.
  • Driving the planning and execution of all events and activations including fan days, season launch, open training sessions, trophy tours and the Sharelle McMahon Medal.
Community Engagement
  • Partnering with our Community and Stakeholder Relations teams to develop and deliver community programs and events that connect grassroots netball to Netball Victoria and the Vixens brand.
  • Ensuring all events are welcoming, inclusive and aligned with best practice.
Operations and Stakeholder Management
  • Overseeing all operational requirements - netball game day operations, hospitality, catering, signage, logistics and administration for game day and events.
  • Managing productive relationships with venues, broadcasters, sports presentation and other suppliers, Netball Australia, coaches and athletes.
  • Implementing sound financial procedures and managing the events budget and expenditure.
  • Tracking, analysing, and reporting on content key metrics and data to support Netball Victoria's strategic plan.
Leadership and Culture
  • Recruiting, guiding and supporting staff, casuals and volunteers.
  • Embedding a high performance culture across the events and operations function.
  • Representing the Netball Victoria and Melbourne Vixens with professionalism in all settings.
  • Supporting other duties as required by the role and Netball Victoria.
What you will bring:
  • Significant experience (7 + years) in events management ideally within sport or entertainment.
  • Proven leadership experience (3+ years) with the ability to motivate and guide others.
  • Tertiary qualification and/or professional experience in Event Management, Sports Management or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of event management and operations principles and industry trends.
  • Exceptional organisation skills and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • A passion for sport and a clear understanding of sporting environments from grassroots to elite level.
  • Valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
