Motion Recruitment is partnered up with a widely recognised Aussie brand based in Collingwood Melbourne.Join a high-impact data and analytics team within a leading Australian brand, and help drive smart decision-making across key finance initiatives. The client is looking for a data business analyst to join.You'll be a key player in delivering data-driven solutions across finance programs, combining your business analysis expertise with a solid grasp of data and analytics to translate complex requirements into actionable outcomes.Responsibilities:

Lead discovery sessions to define business needs, KPIs, and data/analytics requirements in the finance domain.
Collaborate with data product leads, analytics engineers, external vendors, and finance stakeholders to shape data products and reporting layers.
Translate business rules into structured artefacts such as BRDs, HLDs, and LLDs to support delivery.
Drive delivery using Agile practices including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and estimation.
Advise stakeholders on best use of data to support strategic and operational finance objectives.
Help develop semantic layers and streamline access to trusted data for reporting.
Work closely with delivery teams to define acceptance criteria and ensure successful implementation.

Requirements:

Proven experience working in Agile environments and leading cross-functional data or analytics teams.
Strong understanding of data analytics, data modelling, and BI reporting-particularly using Power BI.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, particularly within finance, operations, and vendor partnerships.
Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with cloud data platforms like Snowflake.
Experience working with ERP, EPM, or DBT tools is highly desirable.
Sound understanding of finance principles, accounting, and financial statements.
Comfortable creating clear, structured documentation (BRD, HLD, LLD, process maps, etc.).
A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field is preferred.
