We are seeking a Registered Nurse (Grade 5) to join Bowen Hospital on a short-term contract. This role offers exposure to both emergency and rural nursing, within a 27-bed acute hospital. Bowen's Emergency Department is a Level 2 facility, equipped to manage a wide range of conditions from trauma to acute medical care, stabilising and transferring patients as needed. The general wards also provide patient-centred care with a multidisciplinary approach.Requirements
Mandatory Experience:
- Rural nursing and emergency experience
- Knowledge and use of ieMR (including FirstNet, PowerChart, HBCIS)
- Previous QLD Health and/or Mackay HHS experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Life Support (ALS)
- Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK)
- Manual and patient handling
- Infection control
- Aggressive behaviour management
- Mandatory reporting requirements (child abuse/neglect)
- Medications management including QPHS (Drugs and Poisons) Regulations November 2012
- Must agree to undertake Integrated electronic medical record training, online induction, or other training as directed
- Must have a car if not ieMR trained (to attend training as required)
