About the roleWe have an opportunity for a Supervisor to join a supportive team reporting to the Harvest/Post-Harvest 2IC. The hands on position will be responsible for supporting the Harvesting Team to pro-actively assist and implement the harvesting function through the supervision of harvesting teams, providing daily direction and resolution of workflow issues to maximise product yield and quality.As an approachable, hands-on supervisor, you enjoy problem solving and will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to Health, Safety and Quality policies and procedures. Internal training will be provided to the right person in all the interesting and sometimes challenging work that is mushroom harvesting.Rotational weekend work and public holidays will be a requirement for the position.Tasks involve:
  • The organisation and setup of the harvesting area
  • Daily and weekly forecasting of yield
  • Resolving daily and weekly workflow issues
  • Monitoring harvesting practices, quality and hygiene and ensuring that all training is up to date
  • Monitoring rosters and attendance
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained
  • Identifying, raising, and resolving conflicts and issues of urgency
  • Leading and motivating a large team of employees
  • Assist in managing performance and development of team members
  • Maintain compliance with all Company policies and procedures
The successful candidate will have:
  • Passion and bring positive vibes to the team
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience (we don't need you to know about mushrooms - we will teach this to you)
  • Initiative and drive and a good problem solver
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise competing tasks
