The Role & ProjectMACA is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to support the Maintenance and Engineering teams, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mobile plant equipment in a mining environment.This role offers hands-on experience in maintenance planning, failure analysis, reliability engineering, and project execution. Assist in the planning and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activities for plant and equipment.
Work closely with trades, supervisors, and planners to support day-to-day maintenance operations.
Participate in root cause analysis of mechanical failures and assist in developing action plans.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability and reducing downtime.
Support condition monitoring activities.
Assist in maintaining accurate maintenance records, reports, and engineering documentation.
Participate in engineering design, procurement, and commissioning of minor capital and improvement projects.
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Engage in structured learning and development, including rotations across maintenance disciplines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, reliability, and safety departments.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent, recognised by Engineers Australia)
Knowledge of mechanical systems (e.g., pumps, conveyors, crushers, hydraulic systems).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to CMMS (e.g., SAP, Pronto) is an advantage.
Eligible for registration as a Graduate Engineer.
