About the roleWe are seeking a dedicated Technical Officer - Virology/Serology/Molecular (TGO1) to support essential diagnostic services in a high-functioning laboratory environment. In this role, you will apply your technical knowledge, judgement, and practical experience to perform a range of standardised laboratory procedures that contribute to accurate and timely patient testing outcomes.You will work both independently and collaboratively, carrying out routine technical duties and participating in project-based activities requiring technical skill and expertise. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build your technical expertise while supporting critical health services within the fields of virology, serology, and molecular diagnostics.About YouYou are a motivated and detail-focused technical professional with a strong interest in laboratory diagnostics. With a solid foundation in virology or related fields, you bring accuracy, initiative, and a commitment to high-quality results, even in demanding settings.Demonstrated competency in routine virology testing with strong manual dexterity, precision, and understanding of laboratory procedures.Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team, manage shifting workloads, follow protocols, and solve problems proactively.Sound knowledge of lab safety, confidentiality, and WHS legislation, with experience using lab software and handling clinical specimens.About usStatewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS) is a unique public healthcare organisation that serves health consumers and provides specialist clinical services to the health system in South Australia.
