Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.Job DescriptionAs the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be able to display your proven ability in leading a large team, managing a multi-million-dollar budget and effective resource allocation to safely deliver performance requirements of the Field equipment fleet the Capcoal Open Cut mine operations.Reporting directly to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, your extensive experience and leadership ability will be able to be displayed through your knowledge of effective maintenance planning and execution, contractor management, maintenance systems and technical knowledge on 2 x dragline, P&H shovel, hydraulic excavators and overburden drillsAs a driven senior maintenance professional, you will be responsible for managing maintenance activities at the Capcoal Open Cut mine operations. This includes but not limited to:
- Safe work practices and work standards of all CMW in the Field Maintenance Department in accordance with Site SHMS
- Manage approved budgets for the maintenance of the Field Maintenance equipment
- Management of Anglo employees and contractor companies used to maintain equipment in the Field Maintenance Department including but not limited to:
- Bucyrus 8750 AC Dragline
- Marion 8050 DC Dragline
- P&H 4100PXB Electric Shovel
- 2 x RH340 Excavators
- Hitachi EX2500
- Hitachi EX1200
- Hitachi EX5600
- 2 x Drilltech D90KS Overburden Drills
- Drilltech D25K Coal Drill
- Your Trade or Degree qualification in mechanical engineering;
- demonstrated experience within an open-cut coal mining environment, specifically Field Maintenance equipment;
- solid understanding of the coal mining process and relevant legislation with strong interpersonal skills are essential to the role.
- Full-time, permanent position - Monday - Friday
