Located 15 minutes from Penola in the Coonawarra region of SA, Rymill Coonawarra is looking for a Laboratory Technician to work Full time on site as part of our small production team. The position will be responsible for performing sample preparation, chemical and microbiological analysis, cellar additions and maintenance of laboratory records.The successful applicant will be team-oriented and should have strong analytical, attention to detail and time management skills. Appreciation and knowledge of wine, together with previous wine industry experience, will be considered an advantage.Job Requirements ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Sampling, chemical testing and microbiological analysis- Achieves the work program as provided by the Winemaker- Alerts the Winemaker should any product fall outside of the specified tolerances- Maintains the laboratory equipment in good working order- Provides guidance and oversight to vintage casuals working in the laboratory- Calibrates, troubleshoot and operate laboratory equipment in accordance with standardoperating procedures- Monitors laboratory chemicals and waste disposal according to standard operating procedures- Keep accurate sample sheets and other required documentation in both paper and electronicForm- In liaison with the winemaker examine and carry out preventative and remedial action- Comply with all policies and WHS requirementsESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS- Significant experience in a winery carrying out a range of duties in the laboratory.- Understanding of the total winemaking process- Sound written and verbal communication skills- Strong interpretation and problem-solving skills- Excellent computer skills and experience- Able to meet tight timelines and juggle workloads to meet daily demand- Able to work autonomously- Capacity to follow stringent SOPs and WHS requirements- Attention to detailIf you have the above skills and are looking for an exciting and rewarding career, please send us your resume and cover letter via email using the 'APPLY FOR JOB' link above.For further information about this position or the Company, please contact Lewis White, Winemaker Rymill Coonawarra - lewis.white@rymill.com.auWe look forward to hearing from you.Map Address
