This position is the Chief Bush Fire Control Officer for the Shire of East Pilbara and is responsible for managing Marble Bar VFES, Nullagine BFB, Newman VFRS and Jigalong BFB.Successful applicants will have:
Experience in pre-incident pre-planning for bushfires in an urban or rural environment.
Experience in responding to and managing bushfire incidents in remote areas is preferred.
Broad experience in commanding, controlling and co-coordinating the effects of or impacts from bushfires as part of an Incident Management Team or other emergency management functions.
Previous experience in leading and managing people, including working with emergency services volunteers.
Desirable CriteriaIt is desirable but not essential that applicants have knowledge of and/or experience in working in the Pilbara Region or similar.PrerequisitesSuccessful applicants must have the following prerequisites:
Possession of a Western Australian Heavy Rigid Drivers Licence.
Qualified and evidence of skills and knowledge required as a Level 1 Incident Controller in rural fire.
