Role Description;The Aboriginal Family Support worker position will provide a liaison and support service to children and their families attending the Child, Youth Assessment & Therapeutic Team. The position is responsible for cultural brokerage, liaison, advocacy and support for clients ensuring the responsibility of coordination and facilitation of children and families for appointments and follow-ups.To be considered for this position, you will require;
Identifies as an Aboriginal person; recognised and accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community
Excellent communication skills including ability to communicate effectively in one or more local Aboriginal languages, and the ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment
Proven experience in providing support to Aboriginal Children and families
Current Drivers Licence
