SAP Specialist Reports To: Operational Readiness Superintendent – Major Projects
Location: Perth CBD
Employment Type: Contract
Position Overview The SAP Specialist plays a key role in supporting major project delivery and ensuring seamless operational readiness in collaboration with asset owners and central support teams. This role is responsible for the creation and management of SAP master data, maintenance planning, and coordination of asset-related activities to enable safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations aligned with project lifecycle milestones.
Key Responsibilities;
  • Collaborate with the Project Delivery Team to understand scope and schedule, ensuring readiness data (IOMs, equipment registers, datasheets, P&IDs) is available and accurate
  • Liaise with Asset Owners to clarify operational readiness requirements, identify gaps, and provide regular updates through to handover
  • Coordinate with Central Support teams (Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, NPI & Water Management) to ensure compliance with corporate standards
  • Create and update SAP function locations, equipment masters, BOMs, maintenance plans, task lists, and maintenance items
  • Ensure all SAP data aligns with Maintenance Philosophy, legislative requirements, and FMECA principles
  • Conduct spares criticality assessments and manage cataloguing and stock holding in collaboration with Site Maintenance and Central Asset Management teams
  • Lead and facilitate meetings to ensure effective communication and alignment across stakeholders
  • Provide regular progress reports and actively manage schedules and budgets
Qualifications & Experience
  • Trade qualification in Electrical discipline
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning and SAP master data creation/change
  • Strong understanding of maintenance processes and operational readiness fundamentals
  • Experience in the mining industry preferred
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Logical and pragmatic problem-solving approach
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
