Applecross Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a motivated School Psychologist to join their supportive team. To be successful in this role, you will ideally have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to collaborate and work effectively with our Student Services team, students, and parents.The position start date can be negotiated for the successful applicant.Find out more about our school by visiting orThe RoleThe successful applicant will ideally be able to develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, consult widely, and work effectively both as part of a team and independently when required. Working with students ranging from individuals through to small groups and whole cohorts will be part of the role.In addition to direct student support, the successful applicant will ideally contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of whole school wellbeing programs. This includes working collaboratively with staff to promote a positive school culture, enhance student resilience, and support mental health initiatives across all year levels.The role also involves supporting high performing students, helping them manage academic pressure, maintain wellbeing, and achieve their potential through tailored strategies and guidance.The successful applicant will be an active member of the case management team, contributing to collaborative planning and intervention strategies that support student wellbeing and engagement.   • Demonstrated ability to implement school psychology services and programs in an educational environment to maximise student learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of a variety of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group and system-level intervention.
  • Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills.
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.
