
Eyre Peninsula Operations Support Officer

- Uphold the core values and strategic vision of Cassinia Environmental.
- Undertake hands-on work related to land management, including tree planting, seed collecting, fencing, herbicide spraying, pest animal management, direct seeding, tractor work and machinery repairs.
- Identify vehicle, asset and equipment maintenance needs and schedules and manage maintenance works.
- Identify and report OH&S risks and incidents, and follow Cassinia OH&S policies.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on land management and revegetation works using Google applications and mapping applications.
- Occasionally travel to properties across Victoria, New South Wales and other locations in South Australia, which may require overnight stays. Most work will be on the Eyre Peninsula.
- Share knowledge and experience with less experienced staff, volunteers and interns.
- A Diploma or Certificate in Conservation, Land Management or Agriculture would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Relevant environmental land management experience.
- Relevant farm experience with an interest in environmental restoration.
- Strong time management and organisational skills to accomplish objectives effectively within the provided time frame.
- A desire to work as a team and a willingness to assist and support others.
- Knowledge of plants and animals, including the identification of target weed species, native plant species, and pest animals.
- Ability to undertake work in isolated and remote areas in a safe manner.
- Driver's licence (4WD competency).
- A chemical handling certificate (strong advantage).
- Ability to operate a range of machinery and equipment, including four-wheel drive vehicles, tractors, herbicide spray units, and power tools.
- Hold the necessary machinery qualifications, licenses and certificates.
- Must be physically fit.
