With more than 20 offices nationwide, they are committed to technical excellence, long-term client relationships, and creating a better tomorrow through engineering that matters.ABOUT THE POSITION.We are currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team in Sydney. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on strengthening the company’s market presence in NSW through proactive business development, client relationship management, and strategic project acquisition. While maintaining a solid foundation in technical delivery, the ideal candidate will be passionate about networking, identifying new opportunities, and building sustainable business growth.DUTIES.

Lead business development initiatives to expand the company’s geotechnical services
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities through networking, client meetings, tenders, and industry events
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, contractors, and government bodies
Lead or contribute to major bids, proposals, and presentations, including scoping, pricing, and commercial negotiations
Provide high-level technical direction and oversight on selected key projects
Work closely with the Sydney and national leadership teams to shape business strategy, marketing efforts, and client engagement plans
Mentor and support a team of geotechnical engineers to ensure delivery excellence and client satisfaction

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status
Extensive and proven experience in geotechnical engineering, with strong exposure to the Australian market
Proficiency with geotechnical analysis tools (PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Rocscience).
Demonstrated leadership in project delivery and client engagement
In-depth knowledge of ground investigation, soil/rock mechanics, foundation and retaining design, slope stability, and construction methodologies
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
