
Senior Civil/Mechanical Engineer

- Enhance and develop Aurecon’s integrated water and wastewater management design practice in SA in collaboration with Aurecon’s water team nationally and internationally
- Provide civil or mechanical engineering in an integrated engineering team providing services to SA Water and a range of other clients
- Lead and manage challenging and complex water, storm water or wastewater projects across the entire lifecycle including detailed planning, options development and design
- Support civil engineering, environmental engineering and integrated water management projects interstate and overseas
- Engage and build positive relationships with existing and potential clients and stakeholders, support business development and tenders to win and deliver work for Aurecon, including for integrated water management, storm water and water sensitive urban design projects
- Act as Design Lead or Design Manager on medium-sized projects or packages, particularly in municipal water and wastewater network and treatment infrastructure
- Provide specialist input into the design of pumping systems, including hydraulics (ideally including transients and non-Newtonian fluids) and surge analysis
- Instruct and mentor junior engineers, designers and drafters, and review engineering deliverables to ensure quality assurance and technical excellence
- Apply your knowledge of Safety in Design and contribute to risk workshops such as HAZOP during the design process
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Chartered member of Engineers Australia (CPEng), or eligible to apply for membership, and hold or be eligible for registrations such as RPEQ, NER or RPEV
- Experience in civil or mechanical design and production of engineering documentation
- Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including detailed design
- Design management experience on medium-sized projects or packages
- Strong skills in advanced modelling, hydraulics planning, and surge analysis
- Understanding of Safety in Design and risk assessment processes
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate effectively throughout all facets of our organisation and with external stakeholders
