And in doing so, they grow their diverse talents while building something to be proud of.As the Senior Payroll Officer, you’ll support the smooth and efficient processing of Transurban’s fortnightly and monthly payrolls. This is a permanent ongoing opportunity.Day-to-day, you will:Support the payroll delivery by completing monthly and fortnightly payrolls, which includes all data entry, payroll processing and end of period reportingProcess online leave applications, change requests, superannuation, workcover and salary packaging itemsEnsure all payroll systems are up to date, payroll adjustments are appropriately authorised and recordedComplete month end and year end close processesAnalyse and check all payroll information is accurateBe across new legislation and ensure payroll is processed as required.Ensure controls are in place and are completed to reduce and/or minimise risk.Respond to queries and requests for information in a timely manner, including investigating further into complaints or issues regarding pays.Ensure internal processes are captured for all aspects of payroll and are easily accessible.This role will suit someone with the following transferrable skills and experience, including:A seasoned senior payroll specialist or a Payroll Manager looking to return to a business as usual senior payroll position.Strong experience within a medium to large sized complex corporate organisationBroad understanding of payroll functions, procedures and processes.A senior payroll expert with knowledge of iChris/Chris21 or a similar payroll operating system.The ability to manage sensitive payroll issues and maintain confidentiality at all times.A positive and inquisitive attitude with the ability to take direction and be proactive, responsible and accountable.Well-rounded interpersonal and communication skills to be able to provide a high level of service to employees and stakeholders.Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work towards strict time frames.A team player who can work collaboratively in a team but also autonomously as needed.The ability to interpret and apply provision of relevant legislation, awards, certified agreements and company policies.A high level of attention to detail with the ability to analyse and problem solve.A continuous improvement mindset and be proactive in sharing recommendations and opportunities for improvements.If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.With a career at Transurban, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits, including:A range of flexible working and leave options, including the option to purchase an additional six weeks of leave each year16 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of gender or carer status), with no waiting period, with Superannuation paid during unpaid leave as wellLearning and development opportunities to support your career interestsHealth and wellbeing support—access to Headspace and our EAP program, wellness facilities, and moreShare offers and insurance benefitsSocial activities, community give-back programs and paid volunteer daysWe offer a range of flexible working and leave options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests.
