- Support tenants in achieving goals by working with families, individuals, women, and children to develop person- and family-centred plans that support education, employment, and independent living.
- Conduct assessments and case planning by carrying out holistic assessments to understand tenant needs and develop culturally appropriate, tailored case plans.
- Provide guidance and education on tenancy, housing, mental health, domestic violence, and other relevant issues, ensuring information meets tenant needs.
- Manage referrals and collaboration by maintaining regular contact with tenants, coordinating referrals to specialist services, and working closely with internal teams and external agencies.
- Support transitions and tenancy stability by assisting tenants in transitioning to long-term stable housing, managing tenancy responsibilities, and maintaining positive rental outcomes.
- Maintain records and reporting by accurately managing tenancy and client information, monitoring rent arrears, and preparing reports for the program and Mission Australia.
- Contribute to team and program development by actively participating in case meetings, mentoring, and program planning to enhance outcomes for tenants and the overall housing service.
- Relevant degree, diploma, or substantial experience in human services, social work, community development, or a related field
- Experience working with a diverse range of tenants, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and understanding their cultural protocols
- Sound knowledge of housing instability, homelessness, and the services and resources available to support people facing barriers
- Experience supporting people with complex challenges, including mental health, alcohol and other drugs, family and domestic violence, and social or cultural obligations
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage effectively with tenants, colleagues, and stakeholders
- Well-developed time management, organizational, and judgment skills to manage a range of tasks and responsibilities
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and web-based information management systems, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports
