This incumbent will:Work to improve SVHS Emergency Department emergency care to all patients equitably, particularly to patients affected by homelessness, poverty, drug and alcohol issues, social isolation and mental health problems. The Emergency Department is busy and sees a wide range of adult patients including trauma and mental health presentations.Active involvement in research projects within the ED.May be required to work within the Parklea Correctional Services (PLCS) on a regular basis.Diversity and Inclusion at St Vincent's:St Vincent's is committed to employing a workforce that reflects the community we care for. The Emergency Department is busy and sees a wide range of adult patients including trauma and mental health presentations.· Possess a specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);· Possess, or be eligible to possess in the next two months, Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialist's State Award;· Demonstrated knowledge, skills and high standards of clinical practice in Emergency Medicine with extensive understanding and experience in the management of complex clinical and social problems;· Demonstrated commitment to teaching at specialty registrar, junior medical officer and undergraduate levels;· Demonstrated management ability in clinical service planning and the provision of a patient focused, comprehensive, high quality and cost-effective clinical service with knowledge and commitment to the implementation of best practice and clinical service innovation;· Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team, and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction and experience.For more information or a copy of the position description, please contact Dr Gonzalo Aguirrebarrena -Applications close on 11 September 2025
