The Planning and Construction team is responsible for overseeing all property-related processes, ensuring the strategic acquisition of land in alignment with the new school development plan, and maintaining existing schools to the highest standards. The team manages the planning, design, and development of new schools and building projects while also coordinating maintenance activities, funding applications, and approval processes. Additionally, they collaborate closely with local authorities, architects, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.SummaryShowcase your ability as the senior advisor, driving organisational change through process improvements. - Providing specialised advice and support through all phases of planning, design, construction, and maintenance.
- Contributing to the development of building asset systems, policies, and practices for consistent services across BCE schools.
- Managing project consultancy and team coordination for school capital works and facilities management.
- Building effective relationships with Principals, school communities, and external consultants to facilitate project delivery.
- Managing project budgets and reports, including school site visitations.
- Ensuring BCE Workplace Health and Safety documentation is included in project tenders and contractors meet WHS obligations.
- Supporting schools in developing and reviewing five-year maintenance plans and executing maintenance works.
- Proven track record in project management and contract administration in the construction environment.
- Experience in advising and influencing client managers in capital works and facilities management projects, with the ability to support and challenge as needed.
- Current knowledge of construction industry developments and statutory provisions and regulations.
- Leading a variety of projects to meet operational outcomes and be analytical in your approach to problem solving.
- Conducted high level reviews and investigations linked to organisational performance.
- Written specialised reports and committee papers on projects you have led.
- Worked with multiple stakeholders and leadership teams in your area of specialty.
- Preferable tertiary qualifications in construction management or a related field.
- Positive Notice Blue Card for working with Children.
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
