Our global client is at the forefront of providing cutting-edge solutions for aerospace and defence industries. Their engineering team is currently on the hunt for passionate, astute, and experienced Principal Aerospace Engineer to work across the key technical disciplines: Powerplant, Structures, Mechanical Systems, and Electrical/Avionics Systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse team dedicated to achieving customer objectives for aircraft airworthiness, safety, availability, and reliability.Role Overview:As a Principal Aerospace Engineer, you will immerse yourself in a diverse array of challenges, including aerospace design, analysis, and a myriad of technical support services. You will be responsible for producing engineering repairs and modification designs, conducting compliance assessments, and providing engineering input to maintain the aircraft configurations and publications. You'll play a crucial role in aligning the Engineering Management System to thrive under regulatory scrutiny, including CASR and/or DASR Part 21J.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Crafting engineering marvels through repairs and modification designs with a sharp eye on DASR/CASR Part 21J compliance.
  • Masterminding detailed compliance assessment reports for cutting-edge modifications & repairs.
  • Independent checks and certification compliance verifications-your stamp of approval on engineering documentation within your Engineering Authority domain.
  • Tackling technical challenges head-on, ensuring the Fleet remains at the apex of operational excellence.
  • Safeguarding our skies by updating on System Safety Engineering issues and ensuring all risks are astutely communicated and recorded.
  • Manage engineering workflow and tasks to maintain airworthiness and aircraft availability.
  • Investigate and report engineering compliance issues to stakeholders.
  • Managing competing priorities of Operational and Maintenance Inputs and aircraft modification programs.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical/Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical/Avionics
  • Ability to obtain Chartered Professional Engineering status through Engineers Australia.
  • Active Australian Defence Security Clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Professional Engineer in the aviation industry.
  • Experience with military aircraft and engine types.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of configuration management, airworthiness regulation, and certification concepts.
  • Previous experience in an aircraft-related TLS program.
