We are seeking Water and Soil Chemists for multiple positions ranging from junior to senior, for contracts until the end of December 2024. This will be full-time hours based in the south-western suburbs of Brisbane. You will need to demonstrate expertise in organic chemistry and a range of tasks using classic chemistry and instrumentation to process samples relating to soil, water, plants, and air.
You will join a busy, yet calm laboratory environment working with a lovely team of like-minded scientists to manage a high-throughput environment. Good documentation traceability via the LIMS system is important to ensure quality standards are maintained.Benefits

In this position we require someone who can work independently but within a high-functioning team. You will have a strong appreciation for laboratory safety and quality standards. Most of all, we are seeking someone with a positive attitude and a proactive approach to their work. Key requirements include:
- Operation of analytic instruments including LCMSMS, GCMS, HPLC, ICPOES, Segmented Flow Auto-Analysers, Ion Chromatograph and Carbon Analysers
- Development, evaluation, monitoring, and documentation of analytical chemistry methods
- Receiving, registering, grinding, labelling, storing, and disposing of samples
- Perform calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Maintain laboratory general housekeeping and quality standards
We encourage chemistry graduates and experienced chemists to apply, as we have multiple positions available. Key skills we are looking for include:
- Qualifications in Chemistry/Laboratory Techniques or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated experience in a NATA accredited laboratory, or strong knowledge of NATA requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Strong knowledge of chemical handling, including storage and waste practices.
