- Ensure reliable and cost-effective sourcing of spares / materials for the engineering store.
- Manage all activities related to stock control, stock movement, inventory holdings and cataloguing.
- Managing the receipt and storage of engineering materials.
- Ensure that JDE and MEX are aligned and reflect each other.
- Participate in the site’s Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) process focusing on asset criticality and developing inventory holding policies.
- Timely and accurate stocktaking, consistent with Simplot and procedures.
- Assist in the establishment and implementation of standard numbering and naming conventions.
- Establish and maintain parts re-order thresholds, ordering procedures, issuing procedures (parts issues at plant entity level) and stores location and bar coding controls.
- Establish and maintain stock take procedures with the intent to migrate to cycle count once best practice stores inventory accuracy is achieved.
- Establish and maintain stores security protocols and systems (e.g. access to stores, stores systems and how this is controlled i.e. Fobs.)
- Establish and maintain front of stores Kan Ban systems and auto bin replenishment by suppliers.
- Provide timely information and advice to Maintenance Planner and fellow team members on critical issues and activities.
- Keep the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Planner informed on activities, developments, issues and changes which may or do impact on the team, or the completion of the scheduled maintenance or assigned maintenance tasks.
- Demonstrated Stores experiences within a manufacturing or industrial environment (essential)
- Mechanical / Electrical aptitude (trade certificate would be advantageous)
- Attention to detail
- LF Forklift licenced
- Intermediate level of PC skills using the Windows OS & MS Office suite of products
- CMMS experience - noting that Simplot use MEX
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Possess strong organisational skills
