We are Hiring: Full-Time Teacher (Disability Unit, Individual Support)
Start Date: Term 3, Week 8 (Immediate Start)
Location: Hewett Primary School, Disability Unit
Contract: Until the End of the Year
We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Teacher to work 1:1 with Primary aged student, providing tailored program within the Disability Unit.Key Responsibilities:
1:1 teaching for a Primary student with complex needs within the Disability Unit (with the support of an SSO2)
Programme, implement a learning program inline with personalised learning plans
Maintain strong, respectful relationships with families, staff and internal/external services
? Contribute to a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environmentAbout You:
Registered Teacher with relevant qualifications
Experience working with students with complex needs and disabilities
Be an active, collegial member of the Disability Unit, working in close partnership with colleagues, leaders, and the wider education team
Skilled in trauma-informed and strength-based practices
Warm, energetic and adaptive with a growth mindset
Effectively utilise and support the use of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) systems to maximise student engagement and learning outcomes.
Confident using visual supports, sensory strategies, and regulation tools
