We're seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to lead clinical learning and support across our Operating Theatres, fostering excellence in surgical care and team development.As the CNE for Operating Theatres, you will provide hands-on teaching, guidance, and clinical support to nursing and support staff across perioperative services. You'll play a key role in building capability, confidence, and cohesion within a high-performing surgical environment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate clinical learning and education at the theatre level, tailored to individual and team needs
  • Act as a clinical resource and support person during high-pressure or complex situations
  • Assist staff in identifying learning goals aligned with perioperative requirements and monitor progress
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate education programs related to new or existing procedures, policies, and equipment
  • Demonstrate, teach, and assess staff competency in surgical equipment, clinical procedures, and theatre protocols
  • Maintain structured orientation programs for new nursing staff and students within the Operating Theatres
  • Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships across multidisciplinary teams

Where you'll be workingLiverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment.
