With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hour's drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourne's North is fastNorthern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to join the Broadmeadows Adult Inpatient Unit.About Northern Health:Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.Services are provided through our five main campuses:Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.About Mental Health Division:Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.About the Role:The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is a senior Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN 4) based on an inpatient unit.The CNE is pivotal to developing clinical nursing skills and promoting advanced standards of practice in recovery focused Mental Health Nursing in the area of acute psychiatric care.The CNE will provide sound clinical leadership and have the ability to be a role model for all clinical staff.The CNE will provide a consultancy service regarding specialist programs within the mental health inpatient unit.Clinically based, this important role will provide a clinical teaching framework and plan for each unit within the educator's area of responsibility.The CNE will be primarily responsible for the effective facilitation and provision of in-service education, Graduate, Post Graduate and RN/EN Transition Programs, Undergraduate Program and continuing education programs, for all nurses at the unit level.To be successful in this role you will have:
- Registered Psychiatric Nurses:
- Registration as a registered nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or, Bachelor Degree in Nursing plus a Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
- Minimum five (5) years of post-registration experience working in variety of public acute mental health settings.
