About the roleUGL are currently seeking a suitably qualified SMP Supervisor to oversee the structural, mechanical, and piping aspects of a brownfields construction project in Darwin, Northern Territory. The project will commence in March 2024, with an estimated 9–12-month duration. You will ideally be a local Darwin resident and work a 5/2 roster, or work a 19/9 fly in fly out roster from capital cities.The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the project, meeting quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.Key responsibility areas1. Supervise and Lead: Directly manage and lead a team of SMP tradespeople to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration in executing project tasks.2. Safety Compliance: Enforce and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring that all SMP activities adhere to industry safety standards and company policies.3. Quality Assurance: Monitor and inspect SMP installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and client expectations.4. Schedule Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive schedule for SMP activities, coordinating with other disciplines to optimize project timelines.5. Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources, equipment, and materials to meet project requirements and deadlines.6. Communication: Foster effective communication within the SMP team and collaborate with other discipline supervisors and project managers to address challenges and ensure smooth project progression.7. Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve issues related to SMP activities, providing innovative solutions to overcome obstacles.8.
