As a Handyman Supervisor on Hamilton Island you are responsible for all aspects of presenting a pleasing and safe environment for our guests. It is an organisational role that calls for a creative thinker who can react, and plan and implement solutions to areas of concern. You will also be liaising and engaging with qualified tradespeople and ensuring that a high quality standard is provided to our guests.Your Benefits

Your RoleAs a handyperson you're responsible for ensuring all buildings, fixtures and fittings within the Marina Operations are maintained and repaired on a timely basis. Your average day may see you completing daily maintenance checks, replacing timber walers and beams on side of marina, painting and oiling decking amongst other tasks
You will also:

Responsible for the maintenance and security for all tools and equipment that are the property of HIE
Ensure all allocated vehicles are maintained in a clean, safe and roadworthy condition at all times
Conduct all work in a safe manner and ensure all compliance requirements are fulfilled in accordance with Industry regulations
Ensure quality control and effective time management is maintained at all times
Provide up-to-date and accurate administration for all relevant processes within the maintenance department
Be responsible for work allocation and directing staff
Complete project work as directed by the General Manager of Engineering & Services
Undertake emergency and volunteer work associated with the safety of staff and guests and the overall cleanliness/environment of the island as required
Assist and support the Maintenance Management team with other duties as directed, commensurate with the nature and level of this position
Be responsible for all departmental induction and training
Ensure all tasks undertaken are compliant in relation to your trade/profession

About You

Valid manual driver licence
White construction card
Work Safely at Heights
Elevated Work Platform above 11 metres (Highly regarded)
Partial trade qualifications or experience in a Marina environment an asset
Reliable and flexible attitude
Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
