Job Description:Are you passionate about database development and looking to work on complex and challenging projects? We have a fantastic opportunity for Database & Reporting Developer to join our team. This is a 2 Year Full-Time Fixed Term position which can be based in any state in Australia.Responsibilities:The role of Database & Reporting Developer is to Design, Implement and Build Reports in SQL Server Databases, establish an approach to enable the UI to display reports using SSRS, implement existing and new reports accurately and efficiently within the deliverable time constraints, tune and optimise the queries utilised by the system and it's reports, and support the application environment.THE ROLE
  • Work closely with Downer Management (IT Application Portfolio Manager & IT Application Service Managers) to determine the approach for the application to interact with SSRS.
  • Investigate, resolve, and prioritise scoped items in collaboration with Downer management (Application Managers)
  • Work closely with the business, Application development/support teams, other IT resources and vendor partners to ensure that Delivery is managed, aligned to agreed priorities and available capacity
  • Implement practices to support iterative/agile development
  • Manage and QA the delivery of in scope requirements
  • Monitor performance and tune database queries/reports
  • Work with the IT & business stakeholders to determine key business needs / requirements and ensuring appropriate options are considered
  • Identify and report Key Constraints, Assumptions, Risks, Dependencies and Issues derived from project/business requirements
  • Ownership of key data so that the information used is accurate and considered the source of truth
  • Ensure systems documentation and templates are accurate and current
  • Remediate audit findings and execute agreed elements within defined timelines
  • Close liaison with projects delivering new changes to provide input or consider in delivery planning
  • Ensure that IT service management processes and policies are adhered to
  • Ensure software license usage is known and in compliance with vendor licensing terms.
ABOUT YOU
  • Tertiary qualifications - Business / IT or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of IT and business/industry work experience
  • Minimum 10 year of experience in SQL Server, T-SQL Language, and SSRS
  • Experience with writing, and maintaining complex procedural programs (in T-SQL)
  • Experience with writing T-SQL Queries, Functions and Stored Procedures
  • Experience with Microsoft Access Forms and VBA is desirable but not required
  • Proven experience in delivering technology solutions/products
  • Ability to interpret unclear requests, determine desired outcomes and co-ordinate an approach to define and deliver against these
  • Demonstrated skills in organisation and time management
  • Exposure to project management methodologies and their application. Able to plan work for self & others accurately.
  • Exposure to a complex organisational environment with diverse business requirements
  • Experience in the development of functional specifications, gap and solution analysis, including impact assessments on people, process and technology.
  • Experience in business process documentation and re-engineering
  • High standard of written and oral communication
