
Senior Consultant - Operational Due Diligence

We undertake operational due diligence reviews of investment managers and other third-party service providers. Providing clients with detailed reporting identifying operational risks and guidance on mitigating operational risks.The role includes:
- Conducting reviews and analysis of investment managers' operational frameworks, including governance, risk management, compliance internal controls, IT infrastructure, and operational workflows.
- Identifying and evaluating potential operational risks across an investment manager's business ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Preparing detailed due diligence reports summarising findings, areas of concern, and recommendations for improvement.
- Engaging with our investment manager and asset owner clients to discuss due diligence findings, clarify concerns, and offer guidance on mitigating operational risks.
- Staying updated on regulatory changes and industry trends impacting operational due diligence.
- Provide training and support to junior team members on due diligence methodologies and best practices.
Deloitte's Investment & Superannuation Advisory team is part of the Strategy, Risk & Transactions business in Australia. The team is recognised for providing clients with a full range of advisory services across operational and investment due diligence including investment manager and other third-party provider due diligence reviews and ongoing monitoring.Enough about us, let's talk about you.You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:
- 1-3 years experience in operational due diligence, preferably within investment management or a related financial services sector.
- Strong analytical abilities to scrutinise complex operational setups and identify potential risks.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure thorough assessment and accurate reporting of due diligence findings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective report writing and stakeholder interactions.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and to lead, inspire and mentor junior team members.
- Strong time management skills enabling prioritisation of work without supervision.
- Familiarity with workflow tools and software, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
