- You'll mainly focus on Australia & New Zealand regions & other Asian entities
- You'll provide quality, timely and cost-effective 'solutions orientated' corporate & commercial legal advice, across some of the following key areas:
- Financial services advice & distribution laws
- General commercial & corporate law
- Competition & consumer protection law
- Regulatory inquiries, investigations & regulatory reform
- Intellectual property, branding & technology
- Data protection & privacy law
- Commercial disputes & litigation
- Employment law is not essential but is a bonus!
- You'll draft, negotiate & advise on insurance distribution & service contracts as well as commercial contracts (including information technology, outsourcing and third-party contracts)
- You'll provide legal advice in relation to product development, legislative and regulatory changes
- You'll advise and assist in regulatory dealings & engagement
- You'll mentor junior staff members, develop precedents & deliver training to the Business
- You'll support with Company Secretarial functions as well as identifying & managing governance issues
- You'll provide support to APAC General Counsel and take on delegated duties as requested

- Ability to analytically assess issues & communicate advice clearly & in a non-legalistic way & provide professional judgement in complex or sensitive matters
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build & maintain trustful, working relationships at all levels of the organisation; able to demonstrate professional & tactful customer relationship skills
- You will have a strong understanding of company statutory reporting requirements
- Strong written communications skills & ability to produce a variety of documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought, and orderliness of presentation
- Min 10+ years qualified legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Law with a current unrestricted practising certificate
- Extensive Corporate/Commercial experience essential with Financial Services product, general insurance and/or travel insurance exposure beneficial but not essential.
- Working knowledge of the Corporations Act, particularly Ch 7
- Demonstrated experience in providing quality in-house legal services
- Experience in offering a client focussed approach to legal services delivery
