- Previous experience in road maintenance environment
- Current unrestricted “MR” (medium rigid) class driver’s licence.
- White Card – Work safe in the construction industry.
- Possession of, or the ability to acquire, accreditation in Basic Worksite Traffic Management.
- Possession of, or the ability to acquire, accreditation in Traffic Control.
- Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.
- Be competent in the use of concrete cutters, foot stamper, plate compactor, road making plant, general construction tools and equipment.
- Ability to undertake basic survey levelling and re-pegging.
- Knowledge of bitumen repair techniques, methods, and quality control procedures.
- Patching potholes and cracks in the road surface
- Inspecting roads for signs of damage or wear and tear
- Safe operation and user maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
- Customer service and decision-making skills.
- Verbal and written literacy and numerical skills.
