- Minimum 7 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role
- Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works

- Review of subcontractor IPC claims.
- Assist commercial team with commercial letters to subcontractors/ client.
- Mentor engineering team to further their technical knowledge.
- Develop 6 to 12 month look ahead programs for planning/ procurement.
- Ensure the development, in collaboration with the Supervisors, of a detailed programme for day to day activities, look ahead programme and daily program changes, including resources required and material deliveries;
- Develop better ways to deliver the Project works, including improved construction methodologies, alternative designs and alternative materials selection;
- Ensure data for shift reports is reviewed and opportunities identified, for improvement to methods and reoccurring issues/delays.
- Monitor progress of the planned works and regularly review the delay allowance status;
- Coordinate resources to ensure the Project works progress in conjunction with other Section works;
- Ensure the tracking of off-site procurement items against programme;
- Actively participate in the application of resources to generate a target program based on the method, with a target completion that precedes the contracted completion by a suitable delay allowance;
- Communicate the program to all relevant internal parties;
- Develop “One Team” culture so that the site teams cooperate well with each other and integrate effectively with the wider project teams;
- Coordinate and ensure that Graduate and Site Engineers are clear what is expected of them and provide regular feedback to ensure effective performance;
- Lead development of Graduate and Site Engineers to ensure development of their capability by identifying and addressing development needs of direct team members;
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and external parties, which are managed within the guidelines of the project code of ethics.
- Seek, test, analyze and evaluate the latest blasting technologies and make the necessary recommendations prior to implementation to ensure viability.
- Provide advice to relevant stakeholders on surface blasting practices to proactively alleviate or avoid any unnecessary problems and to always ensure statutory compliance.
- Scrutinize, inspect and approve blast block designs to ensure safe blasting practices and conformance to set standards and design Drill Patterns
- Generate effective drill pattern, tie-in and charge designs.
- Produce Dip, Charge and Backfill sheets.
