As a Utilities Design Manager / Project Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful management and delivery of critical utilities infrastructure projects. You will be contributing to overseeing utilities risks, managing relationships with utility companies and optimising time and cost positions. We are seeking a candidate with strong technical expertise in utilities management ideally having a civil background. Our client specialises in all utility disciplines including electricity, water, wastewater, gas, and telecommunications, across a wide range of infrastructure projects. This is across both traditional and renewable technologies. There are a number of subject matter experts in each discipline in the company. Management and Oversight of Utilities Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams of our clients to integrate utilities strategies across various packages and contracts. Offering general support for utility-related issues across your projects. Conducting Subject Matter Expert (SME) reviews on utility-related design submissions. Coordinating utility designers, surveyors and Utilities Digital Engineers to effectively manage the utility scope. Managing the delivery of utilities site investigations and early works packages, including utilities designers and contractors. Identifying opportunities for time and cost improvements in the utilities element of Project Works. Escalating utilities issues and concerns to senior management as early as possible to ensure utilities risks are mitigated and best-for-project solutions are found. Responsible for preparing and presenting regular reports and presentations to package/project senior leadership teams on utilities risks. Supporting Utilities Project Managers, offering guidance, leadership and helping their professional development. Risk Mitigation and Strategy Taking charge of utilities risk management, ensuring timely resolution and efficient delivery of utilities infrastructure. Identifying significant utility-related risks and collaborating with utilities team and utility owners to establish effective mitigation measures. Collaborating with senior management to identify key utility risks and develop mitigating strategies for early action, minimising delays and cost escalation during project delivery. Collaboration, Support & Business Development Providing tender support and coordination to our team and integrated client team for various tender packages, including preparation of tender documentation. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with our clients, utility owners and authorities, and other external stakeholder such as local councils, state government etc. Working collaboratively, with the wider utilities team through early and open communication. Foster strong relationships with clients in order to identify further opportunities for the business and support winning new work through input to tender submissions, meeting and presenting to prospective clients, reviewing tender documentation and designs etc. Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Strong communication, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making skills.
