0448619840 | tamara.fish@dffh.vic.gov.auPosition DetailsTHE ROLEThe Supervisor, Information Exchange Team (IET) is responsible for the supervision and coordination of the Information Exchange Team to ensure effective delivery of interstate information sharing services. The Supervisor will lead the IET in managing operational matters, implementation of the program's strategic plan and priroities, resource management, provision of supervision, oversight and reporting. The Supervisor promotes a collaborative team environment where the program's strategic plan and priorities can be achieved.The IET undertake a dedicated information exchange function to support timely information sharing activity between states and territories in accordance with the Interstate Child Protection Protocol (October 2021) and the Interstate Child Protection Warrants Protocol, the Children, Youth and Families Act, 2005, the Child Wellbeing Act, 2005, the Information Sharing Protocol between the Commonwealth and Child Protection Agencies 2009, and the 1996 Hague Convention. The IET will also be responsible for requesting information from a range of Commonwealth stakeholders including Services Australia regarding Centrelink and Medicare information required for Child Protection investigations.As part of supporting the appropriate exchange of sensitive information in a systematised and consistent manner with other jurisdictions, the IET will develop responses to complex information sharing requests with information relevant to the safety, welfare and well-being of a child or information relevant to a prospective carer or adult household member. Program Advisers will also manage, and re-direct information received from other states for action to ensure the safety of children from interstate living in Victoria.The Supervisor will engage with internal and external stakeholders and Child Protection authorities to deliver high quality, responsive and coordinated information sharing to support the safeguarding of children. The Supervisor actively contributes to the development and maintenance of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (the department) operational policy, practice, and agreements on the sharing of sensitive information across jurisdictions and assist in providing wide-ranging support functions within the Interstate Liaison Program.ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
  • Manage the allocation of resources within and the outputs required of the work area.
  • Effectively supervise and provide leadership to a team of employees by:
a) Modelling behaviours integral to good people management and departmental valuesb) Supporting individuals to achieve their potential while maximising their contribution to achieve their goals and outcomesc) Where relevant, support specific improvement objectives in annual improvement plans relating to the area of responsibilityd) Manage, interpret and apply business plans and policies in own area of responsibility and provide advice to others on design and implementation issues.e) Resolve operational problems and issues being experienced by team members.
  • Provide advice and reasoned recommendations to internal and external stakeholders on complex and sensitive issues.
