Mackay Base Hospital is seeking a Grade 5 Registered Nurse to join the Medical F2 Ward from 15 September 2025 - 12 October 2025. This is a rostered placement with rotating 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts (maximum 80 hours per fortnight).
The F2 Ward is a 30-bed acute medical unit providing care for patients with a wide range of conditions including cardiac, diabetes, respiratory, and palliative care. The ward is fully digital, using both ieMR and MAR for charting and medication administration.Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' recent clinical experience in an acute medical setting
- Current BLS competency
- Manual and patient handling
- Infection control
- Aggressive behaviour management
- Mandatory reporting of child abuse and neglect
- Medications management (including QPHS Drugs and Poisons Regulations 2012)
- Knowledge and proficiency with ieMR
- Previous experience in QLD Health / Mackay HHS
- Prior Australian hospital experience
